8 Apr 2011 PROJECT RECEIVES A GENEROUS ANONYMOUS DONATION
A generous benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous has donated £24,000 to the project.
On 9th March 2011, Ash Wednesday, the treasurer received a cheque for £24,000 from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. All we can say is a massive, massive thank you to that person and to reassure them that the money will be used in the creation of something truly worthwhile for North Holmwood.
7 Apr 2011 PLANNING PERMISSION GRANTED!
Planning consent has been granted and is good for 5 years.
At the February 2nd 2011 meeting of the Mole Valley Development Control Committee, permission was granted for the demolition of the existing Parish Room and its replacement by the Community Building as detailed in the plans submitted.

Details of the planning application and its result can be found on the Mole Valley District Council website .

The permission is granted for a period of five years which means that demolition must be started before February 2016!

There were no objections received to the proposal. The committee was struck by the sympathetic nature of the design. There are, naturally, various conditions to be met but none of them are out of the ordinary. Detailed plans must now be produced in order to obtain Building Regulations approval and to get quotations from building companies. After that, all that is left is to raise the rest of the necessary finance and get building!
7 Apr 2011 PROJECT RECEIVES A VALUABLE LEGACY
The project receives a cheque for £55,000 from a legacy.
On 4th February 2011, the PCC received a cheque for £55,000 as a legacy for the hall from the estate of the late Gwendoline Grace Moore. Gwendoline used to live in the parish and was a regular attendee at St. Johns.

This is a truly tremendous boost to the Community Building fund.
