North Holmwood lies on the southern edge of Dorking, a market town in Surrey, England and surrounded by the lovel countryside of the Mole Valley and the North Downs.

The North Holmwood Community Building Project is aimed at providing a home for a number of community activities, a focal point for a village that doesn't currently have one and facilities for the local parish church of St. John the Evangelist.

The building will replace the existing Parish Room beside the church which is showing severe signs of wear and tear. It does not meet current disability access legislation and is not large enough or flexible enough for the needs of the modern community.

It is hoped that the new building will be twice the size of the existing one with a main hall that is easily partitioned for multiple use. It will be designed to be entirely accessible for the disabled. It will have a large, well equipped, modern kitchen. There will be a large, comfortable lobby area and patio door access to a south facing garden/patio area. Such a building will meet the needs of the existing users of the Parish Room and also a large number of other, local community groups. North Holmwood has grown in recent years and many groups do not have anywhere to meet either because possible venues are too far away, too large, not available or too costly.

You can help either with money, time or ideas. The website will tell you how and keep you up to date with current progress.
